A few months back we put out a $10k bounty for anyone who could Tre Flip or Backside Flip El Toro. We got a ton of DMs, but nothing serious—until Adrian Bulard’s team hit us up. He really wanted to try the 360 flip.

After a lot of planning, we set a date. The day before, we checked the spot to make sure it was skateable. With little sleep, we showed up early the next morning, set up cameras, and watched as Adrian mentally battled with the trick for about an hour. Then out of nowhere, he just started hucking. On his third attempt, he almost rolled away but got wheel bite. After what felt like a hundred more tries, he bruised his heels badly and that ended the session.

It was such an unfortunate outcome because we thought for sure he was going to roll away. Sometimes the universe has other plans. Congrats to Chris Joslin for making history—at the end of the day, despite all the trolling and shit talking that’s what this was all about.

Funny enough, El Toro High School ended up suing us for a coincidental $10k in damages. We lost the case and had to pay. But honestly, we’re just grateful to have sparked something that became one of the most monumental moments in skateboarding history.
