So Microsoft wasn't too thrilled that a fan made mod for a Russian F2P Halo game that was canned got more popular than any official Halo game released in the last few years. Microsoft's response was to take legal action, and the fans weren't too thrilled.

The moral of the story: Sometimes the best way to win the game is to not play in the first place. Also RMS did nothing wrong.
