http://www.egs.edu The EGS Cello Project was part of an intensive summer seminar entitled “On Labor and Craft,” lead by Robert Brewer Young, Nico Jenkins and Chris Fynsk at The European Graduate School / EGS. Saas Fee, Switzerland 2017.

The EGS Cello Project evolved from an idea of bridging the distinctions between intellectual practice and the practice of craft. Initially conceived by Robert Young, Nico Jenkins and Christopher Fynsk, the project involved building a cello within a three week seminar at EGS in August, 2017. The cello was worked on by students and faculty during the seminar, and, when completed, was played, in a concert performed at the base of the Feegletscher in Saas-fee, Switzerland, by cellist Christophe Coin, from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris.
