The Dymaxion House is officially reopened for tours! Explore R. Buckminster Fuller's 1946 aluminum "House of the Future" at Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

This 1,017-square-foot circular home was designed to be a low-cost and mass-produced solution to the housing shortage after World War II. Disassembled, it weighed 6,000 pounds, and its parts could fit in a single steel shipping container. The Dymaxion House in our collection is a one-of-a-kind prototype -- the home never made it into production.
