Peculiaris | The Dybbuk - mixed media work inspired by a Jewish ghost story make and tell - and a giveaway! @PeculiarisArt | Uploaded August 2020 | Updated October 2024, 39 minutes ago.
Hello again! Sorry for posting this a bit late, this week's story + art, "The Dybbuk", proved more challenging than I expected (and doesn't that fit just perfectly with a possession\exorcism story?...)
This story originates in a play, written by S. Ansky, so I had to shorten it quite a bit, and because it has SO many beautiful details I was pretty hard cutting things out...
I knew what I wanted to achieve in this mixed media piece right from the beginning, the trick was getting the right effect. I used a lot of the layers, and ALL the paints. Let me know what you think of the result (my eyes still get confused looking at the face, and I made it!)
You can find close ups and more details about this work (and project) in my website: https://peculiaris.art
