We explore the three variations of the plan that would have increased Dutch territory by 50%, the controversial "cultural" justifications used to claim German land, and the dark reality of the proposed mass deportations. We also look at why the Cold War and the Marshall Plan eventually killed the dream of a Dutch Empire, leaving behind only a single hill and a bizarre midnight smuggling run known as "Butter Night."
