Most new drummers believe they’re not creative enough, and that creativity is something you’re either born with or you’re not. However, the truth is that creativity is something we all have. You just have to tap into it.

What if you could “become creative,” even if you feel like you have no creativity? What if you could feel able to play a simple drum solo TODAY? The truth is you CAN - because this is a skill any beginner can learn.

When I was a fairly new drummer majoring in music in college, I had the chance to sit in with a jazz group who was doing a clinic for us one afternoon. In the midst of jamming with them, it came my turn to solo. I’ll never forget what happened here, which I’ll tell you about in a bit… Let’s just say I learned something important that day!

Here’s the deal: By using simple, melodic rhythms, you can craft a musical, compelling drum solo that you can play with confidence - in any style of music.

Stick with me today, and you’ll be soloing by the end of the lesson. We’re going to bust some myths and get you overcoming fears so that you’re empowered to become the creative drummer you’ve always wanted to be. YOU CAN DO THIS!

I believe that YOU can become the drummer everyone wants in their band. Anyone can learn the drums, and you’re far more capable of mastering this instrument than you think you are. Don’t sell yourself short!
