George Henry Lamson was a British doctor who gained notoriety for the murder of his brother-in-law, Percy Malcolm John, in 1881. Lamson was heavily in debt and sought to claim insurance money from John's death. He poisoned John with aconitine, a rare and deadly toxin, during a family visit. The murder attracted attention due to Lamson's medical background and the use of a relatively unknown poison. Forensic evidence linked him to the crime, and Lamson was arrested, tried, and found guilty. He was executed by hanging in 1882. His case became infamous for its medical and forensic intrigue, as well as the tragic betrayal of family trust.
