Klas Pettersen is the CEO of NORA Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium, a collaboration between eight Norwegian universities, five university colleges, and five research institutes within artificial intelligence. NORAs mission is to strengthen Norwegian research, education, and innovation within AI. Klas received his Master of Science (siv. ing.) degree in Physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where he studied quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity. He then turned to neuroscience and received a PhD in computational neuroscience in 2007 from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). After his PhD Klas worked as a postdoctoral researcher and research scientist within computational neuroscience at NMBU, at the University of Oslo, and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California San Diego. Since NORA.ai was established in 2019 he has been the CEO of NORA. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
