The reaction to Disclosure Day took a sharp turn fast. Early buzz was strong, but once audiences actually saw the movie, the conversation shifted into backlash, hot takes, and even claims that Steven Spielberg is overrated.
I get why people are frustrated with the movie. It has some strange choices, some underdeveloped ideas, and a few moments that don’t fully make sense. But does that mean Spielberg is suddenly overrated? Or is the internet just doing what it always does—turning a mixed reaction into the loudest possible discourse?
Here are my thoughts on the Disclosure Day backlash, the Spielberg debate, and why the dust probably still needs to settle.
