"The Dig" is perhaps the most cinematic and ambitious adventure game ever released by LucasArts. What started as an idea by Steven Spielberg for his Amazing Stories series (and later as a potential film) eventually became a legendary point-and-click odyssey. In this video, we experience the full journey of Commander Boston Low and his team as they attempt to divert the asteroid Attila, only to be transported across the galaxy to a dying world.
The Development Hell of Cocytus: The road to 1995 was anything but smooth. The Dig spent six years in development, surviving three different versions and multiple project leads:
- Noah Falstein originally envisioned a survival-heavy RPG.
- Brian Moriarty (Loom) shifted it toward a darker, more violent sci-fi horror.
- Sean Clark finally brought it to the finish line, emphasizing the atmospheric puzzles and the philosophical narrative we know today.
Witness the result of Spielbergβs vision, Orson Scott Cardβs dialogue, and Industrial Light & Magicβs incredible visual effects.
Whatβs inside:
- Complete Storyline (Cutscenes & Key Gameplay)
- The Mystery of the Life Crystals
- Legendary Soundtrack by Michael Land
- The Full Ending
