Welcome All!
I will be uploading videos, of 2 topics, alternating each week:
- SpeechLeech:
o Every 2 weeks
o Based on English alphabet
o 4 languages per letter (choices)
o Vote (24 hours) for one of these 4
o Winner is announced the following day
o I will attempt to learn the winner language
o Video will feature result + the next 4 choices
Criteria for choices:
1) Must have enough online resources to learn
2) Must be written using one of the following scripts: Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic, Hebrew, [mystery script TBA]
Criteria for learning:
1) Be able to introduce myself
2) Be able to count, say today’s date
3) Be able to read a passage of text
4) Discuss something about the language/culture in question in said language
5) Talk about daily life (weather, food, activities, etc.)
6) Be able to ramble a bit off topic
- Honourable Mentions:
o Every 2 weeks (other)
o Languages that didn’t make it as one of the choices on SpeechLeech
o Interesting enough to include in video
o Random cool stuff
o Fun facts
o (No voting)
If you’ve ever been curious to learn a language, no matter how ‘irrelevant’ or small, just do it!
Keep it alive, and pass it on to the next generation!
