This is the story of Delta Air Lines flight number 967, a 747-400 that was scheduled to fly DTW-ATL-SEA on the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2016. The DTW-ATL segment ended up being two hours delayed, and was then downgraded the rest of the way to SEA to an A330-300. Luckily I was able to keep my seat in Delta One (business class) the entire way, but many others were not so fortunate.
Despite the delays and frustrations, Delta did a great job getting people where they needed to be on the busiest travel weekend of the year.
