Do blue light glasses really protect your eyes from screen use and eye strain?

While they’re often recommended, there’s currently no strong evidence that blue light lenses actually reduce eye strain or protect your eyes, particularly for children.

Dr. Luai Eldweik and Dr. Hernan Osorio, Staff Physicians in Ophthalmology, along with Marese Keyser, Senior Optometrist, highlight that what truly helps is building better screen habits. Limiting screen time, especially for children, can make a real difference. For both adults and children, taking regular breaks is key.

Here’s a tip: every hour, look at something about 6 meters away for a short break to help your eyes reset.
