So I played through the entire Darksiders trilogy and we're here today to review the experience. I tried to have fun, but mostly only enjoyed parts of the second and third. I guess I'd put the latter two games in the same tier, and the original one tier under.

Darksiders 1 and the journey of War was fairly off-putting for reasons outlined in the video. It's not even that copping game mechanics/ideas is horribly wrong - it's stuffing so much in without asking how the systems compliment each other.

Darksiders 2 mostly does the same, but makes combat more fun overall. It's still a sloppy, wild ride but I don't hate that part of the game. I hate that I have to do a bunch of dumb puzzles when the combat sections ARE actually fun.

Darksiders 3 wins in narrative for me, and I tend to enjoy Soulslike gameplay more than limp DMC clone stuff - what can I say?

Minigame: count the references to existing online media I used in the script.
