The Dumas Parlor House has a dark past. Said to be the most haunted building in Montana it was built in 1890. Originally for the “High Class” Copper Magnets, the ladies would parade in the parlour before being escorted upstairs by their gentleman “friend” who would stay the entire night.
Later, after the money ran out, the parlour became a place to “Window Shop”, while the basement area had tunnels, not only from the mines but also to many other establishments around town.
History suggests that there were many unexplained passings within these walls. Strange noises, voices and unexplained phenomenon have and still occur in the Dumas.
A little girl around the age of 10, named Eliza, has made herself known. Apparently she is very proud of her dress with “frillies”.
