"The Damp Man Lives" is a 2025 short story by Ian Gordon—a modern sequel to the original series of 'Damp Man' stories by Allison V. Harding.

In the jazz-shadowed streets of New Orleans, journalist Lucy Pelgrim senses something ancient has awakened. Haunted by the secrets of her grandparents—George and Linda Pelgrim—and a manila folder bearing the title 'The Damp Man', Lucy soon finds herself pursued by a presence she cannot explain.
