As goofy as Star Trek IV is, it had some cutting edge effects for its time. It was the first movie ever that used 3D scanning! While the resolution is not comparable to todays standards it's still quite amazing to see! In this video we go through the process ILM went through to create the scans and while we're at it test how close we can get - with minimal equipment - to Star Trek's results
The movie in all its Bluray glory!!
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Accessories for photogrammetry:
Genie Mini II:

FalconEyes RX24-TDX

I have the RX18T which I cannot find anymore. Alternatively you can get the 18TD. The TD models are bi-color so they have had the output of the non bi color lights.
Linear Polarised film for the light:

This very much depends on the size of your light. If you have a smaller light you can get something smaller than A2. And of course the other way around.
Gobe lens polarise filter:

Make sure you buy the right size for your lens. Or you can get a bigger filter and use step down rings for all your lenses
