Following a complete blockade by the USA, Cuban leaders have been forced to pass a massive reform package that essentially dismantles everything that made the Cuban socialist system what it was, in an attempt to get the USA to back off and allow their starving people access to the basics that it has been preventing them from importing. This has happened because no one helped Cuba sufficiently or even really tried to do anything to stop this.
