The New York Times has been foundational in journalism. Being the most subscribed to newspaper in the United States, both digitally and in print-format, it is considered “the paper of record” – a title that carries a heavy burden of responsibility. The paper, while having made large contributions to journalism, winning over 135 Pulitzer Prizes in its 175 year history, has played a large part in manufacturing consent for minorities’ rights being taken away, and for the U.S. 's continued imperial reign on other nations. In today’s video, I’ll be covering some of the worst reporting from The Times and how this leads the everyday reader of the paper to fall onto the wrong side of history.
