We’re back with pt. 4 of our 5-part series following Mingjue Helen Chen's creative process for Illustration 👑

Part 4 introduces how Helen uses adjustment layers and blending modes to get the lighting that she wants.

Flexibility is key in her process. By placing the lighting layers on top and preserving the drawing underneath, she can easily set multiply and adjustment layers, as well as utilize the overlay and color dodge features to get the lighting effects she’s looking for.
