As the COVID-19 pandemic reaches Russia, the government imposes a strict round-the-clock curfew on its population of elderly. While the drastic measures aim to protect those who are the most vulnerable, the distress among the population grows rapidly: Millions are stranded in their flats, some of them without immediate family, access to medication, and even food.

For those seeking help in this extraordinary situation, a municipal helpline is established, which receives hundreds of phone calls each day. These short conversations are able to give us a rare insight into the anxieties of those who grew up in Soviet Union and have largely been left to fend for themselves after the fall of communism. The documentary captures the feeling of anxiety, isolation, boredom, and confusion during the pandemic and finds a very simple, but powerful and honest way to do it.
