Vintage Chalwyn Lantern. I will show you my vintage Chalwyn "Tropic" kerosene lantern. This was in my Grandfather's cabin for years . It was one of two in that cabin for lighting.This is approxmately 70 to 80 years old and it still works perfectly. I replaced the wicks as required as they naturally burn up with use. Several years ago, I broke the glass globe. I searched online for a new one and was surprised to find one being sold on eBay. It was NOS which is New Old Stock it was located in England and I bought it and had it shipped to me. It was a dusty old box with an equally dusty glass globe inside. It had a Chalwyn paper label on the glass as well as a painted Chalwyn logo. I now have a more secure way of storing this lovely lantern when not in use. I wrap it in bubble wrap and store it in a one gallon plastic bucket with a lid like the ones you find in hardware stores.
