Compton middle and high schools have been part of Verizon Innovative Learning programs since 2017, including multiple VILS schools and expanding to 5 VIL Lab schools. In the summer of 2022, prior to the school year starting, over 30 Compton teachers attended a week-long ASU-provided professional training. Now, approximately 30 schools in the district have a lab. The district scaled that effort not incrementally but all at once – an amazing feat.
