Tomorrow’s world depends on a strategic mineral used in batteries: cobalt. Mainly present in Congolese soil, it is exploited at colossal environmental and human cost. Child labour, water and air pollution, modified DNA, corruption. The film investigates the corporate and geopolitics playing out and questions the consequences of this battle being waged: how the promise of a “better world” can go with social justice.
