Here's some recent gameplay from my upcoming horror game, "The Cloudberry Abyss". There's some rendered characters, but most of them look like little blobs or random lines; This is solely to emphasize the gameplay elements and they will be rendered later.
This is on maximum difficulty, where you have to stay at the front desk so the monster doesn't come in the building. However, creatures in the back area are draining your power, oxygen, and smoking up the place, all to block your view of the unwanted guest out front. THE TASK: to watch the front door as much as you can, while clicking and zapping any monsters that interfere with the resources you have. Ammunition is replenished in the basement area.
This gameplay is sort of a combination of FNAF and Emily Wants to Play, but it's not looking too hopeful at this moment, because I'm struggling to figure out how to make the controls satisfying as opposed to confusing and uncomfortable.
I want it to be a fixed perspective point-and-click game like this, but I know nothing about game development, so it's a very slow work in progress. I've been working nonstop on it. Comment below some games that are similar to what I'm trying to make, I'm curious how other games do it.
