The World scene of Music lost a great and talented musician in 2015. A man who gave pleasure to millions of people with his “sound”, the “James Last sound”.
Yes, it was James Last who gave us non stop dancing and other theme related music. 100% instrumental one time, with singers or chorus another time. But “Hansi” also composed music for film and “fernsehen” (German for TV) AND he composed many musical themes himself during a long lasting career.
Some of these own compositions became world famous eg “Einsamer Hirte” which he recorded with another World star, Gheorge Zamfir. (The theme was also used in the film “Kill Bill”)
And then there are numerous “slow” songs – songs that some may know by title but most will know only by recognizing what they hear
Here, as a tribute to this most talented orchestrator, arranger and conductor we present such a “known” song, a melody that stands out due to its brilliance : “Games That Lovers Play”.
For you James, a special tribute at the beginning of a new year, a year that will be a bit more “empty” as far as good music is concerned. But luckily, we have your recordings and we know for sure that, your music will always be with us.
So, in remembrance, here is Claudia Hirschfeld with “Games That Lovers Play”.
