From identity, to Black leadership, to public education, and the presidential election of Barack Obama, Abu-Jamal and Hill interrogate what these things mean for the broader Black community and what lies ahead. Readers get a more nuanced outlook on popular topics and are treated to a bibliography of relevant books at the end of every chapter.

Project overview
A collaborative project between DeWitt Scott and the Moraine Valley Community College Library, "The Daily Reading Room" is a collection of brief video reviews of non-fiction books spanning a number of genres, subjects, and topics. One video will be recorded for each day of the 2022-23 academic school year. Each video will explain the main themes, as well some of the more pertinent and interesting details of the book. Listeners are welcome to comment and contribute to the conversation.
