Nestled in a quiet field just a stones throw from the Irish Sea, the Church of St Rhvdrus is one of the most isolated and atmospheric churches on Ynys Mon (Isle of Anglesey) Dating back to the 12th century, this humble stone building has stood watch over a stretch of coastline notorious for its treacherous rocks and fierce storms
In this video, we explore its connection to the nearby Cemlyn Bay, and the tragic stories of those who never made it home. The churchvard serves as a final resting place for some who perished in the shipwrecks (although many ordinary sailors would be in un-marked graves) that define this coastline, including the Master of a Norwegian ship who drowned nearby.
