King Rose Archives | The Chrysler LHS: One of the First Luxury Sedans Designed in CAD @KingRoseArchives | Uploaded October 2023 | Updated October 2024, 21 hours ago.
The first Chrysler LHS was introduced in May 1993 for the 1994 model year. The LHS was a full-size luxury sedan that replaced the Chrysler Imperial and the Chrysler Fifth Avenue as the division's flagship model. While the New Yorker had bench seats, the LHS had bucket leather seats as well as standard features such as alloy wheels that were options on the New Yorker.
#Funfacts - The LHS was the first production car in the U.S. to to be equipped with standard traction control. Traction control is a safety feature that helps prevent a car from losing traction and skidding. It was also one of the first cars to be partially designed using computer-aided design (CAD). Since CAD was not widely used at the time, traditional design methods were also used. CAD technology allowed Chrysler to create a car with a more aerodynamic shape and a more efficient interior layout. It certainly aided in the design process and helped identify potential problems before production.
The Chrysler LHS received positive reviews and earned awards for its design and features. It was well-received by automotive journalists and consumers alike. A luxurious car that focused on safety, was powered by a V6 engine, and offered a comfortable and quality ride. Do you agree?
