To celebrate the holidays, I made a Christmas-themed Rube Goldberg machine. After 49 fails, the machine finally worked. The entire machine was made in two days, which is a new record! I am very proud of the machine, but what I think I did even better was the theme. I managed to use seven (!!) different Christmas-themed items in the machine, not including things simply for decoration. The moving tube of wrapping paper was the hardest thing to get working. EVERYTHING is Christmas-themed, including most of the supports, which are wrapped to look like presents. I even hung Christmas lights all around my room and around the desk. I think I went really far with the Christmas theme, but I think it looks really awesome! The machine's goal is to turn on the little Christmas tree, which, by the way, really is connected to the switch... One interesting thing about this machine is that the first time I set off the machine with the decorated stocking ornament, (the one that says "RGM #13 Merry Christmas" that is hung on the tree before I set off the machine) the machine worked. In other words, there are no fails with that ornament! Anyway, I worked really hard on this machine, not only with the machine itself, but it wasn't easy to make it all Christmas-themed!
