Everyone quotes Capa. If your photographs are not good enough, you are not close enough. Shin Noguchi thinks reading that line as a question of metres is dangerous. Step in one pace only in order to release the shutter, and the step is not yours. He turns it back on the photographer: was that really you, or was it the picture you wanted?
