Our friend Michael Cumella (@phonographdjmac on Instagram) organized and hosted a Virtual Vaudeville on Instagram Live. 8 different acts from around the US all performing live via smartphone! Each act had 10 minutes, and the whole show ran in a continuous, live loop from 4pm to 10pm. That's 6 hours of live entertainment!
Because of the limitations of Instagram's live streaming functions, we also filmed our performance with a webcam set up just to the side of the phone we were broadcasting from. We thought it would be interesting to share the two side by side to see the differences.
As performers who mainly focus on live shows, it's very nourishing for us to get to play live during the pandemic. Thanks to everyone who tuned in live for the show, and make sure to follow @phonographdjmac to know when the next show will be!
