During the opening of AVP Requiem, when the Predalien kills the first Predator in the trophy room, it’s screams alert another Yautja who was observing a hologram of a planet. Making his way to his clanmates location, he witnesses a Predalien killing the other Yautja.
He then attempts to kill the Predalien with his Plasmacaster, but misses, creating a hole in the side of the ship, making it crash-land in a forest on Earth.
The Predator survives, but is badly injured and witnesses the Facehuggers being held in the ship escape the wreckage.
He then sends out a distress signal from his gauntlet, just before he is killed by the Predalien, who had also survived the impact. The signal sent is then received by the Wolf Predator on Yautja Prime, who then sets out for Earth.
Arriving at the crash site, Wolf briefly grieves the fallen hunter, bowing his head and placing a hand on him.
Wolf then activates the Self-Destruct Device in his Cleaner case and takes the fallen Predator's Plasmacaster and a pair of his Shurikens before fleeing the ship as it is destroyed, removing any traces of it.
This Yautja is known as Bull Predator, and he was a Blooded hunter of the Isolated clan.
His mask is the same type as seen on one of the Ancient Predator's in Alien vs. Predator 1, and his body armour is also similar to the AVP1 design.
It may seem strange how Bull decided to send a distress signal instead of activating his Self-Destruct Device when he was mortally wounded in the Scout Ship's crash in addition to discovering that the Facehuggers had escaped.
However, given the Predalien was on him just as he finished sending the alert, and that self-destruct devices are more complex and can be interrupted, as shown in Predator 2, it is possible he felt there was not enough time to activate the sequence, meaning the Xenomorph infestation could have gone unchecked, while a distress signal would mean someone would be alerted and respond. Or perhaps he sent the signal to alert the other Predators, but then planned to set off his self-destruct immediately after, but was interrupted when he got killed.
If NECA will ever make new figures from AVPR, I would love a figure of this Predator as well as the others from this part of the movie, as they have made some of the more obscure background character Predators before, so hopefully one day they might.
Or if the rumours of them giving up the licence and not making any more Predator figures is true, then maybe Hiya Toys could make one, as I do have their Wolf Predator and Predalien figures, and they’re really nice too.
