In 1903, the British invaded Tibet to force it to settle a border dispute and establish diplomatic relations. It took longer than expected.

Notes:
- Tibet was in a weird situation where they were officially a vassal of the Qing Empire but in reality was more of a loose tributary and a lot of people debate the true nature. To simplify this complicated and disputed dynamic, I showed Tibet as both an independent nation and marked tributary.
- Sakya's borders are based on the modern district but at this time its borders were basically undefined.
