Flintlock is calling itself a Souls-lite, using many elements of Soulslike design but combining them with a God of War-like formula. It's a mechanically-rich game, infusing lots of action RPG and hack-and-slash tropes together in a solid, competent package. The world is interesting, and the art and presentation are nice to look at. Despite occasional balance weirdness and wonky hitboxes, I'd say it's well worth playing. The linear-but-open experience is well-paced and winds up being pretty memorable if you can get past some of the wonk here and there.
