Indie games have long been the lifeblood of the games industry. From the days when DOOM was passed around on floppy discs to the creative explosion of the Flash era and beyond, the indie space has been where small creators bring big ideas to life. The Brass Indie Expo honors that space with arrangements of independent gems from the last 15 years or so.
Here, you’ll find beloved melodies from games like Undertale, Cuphead, and even Minecraft, that started small before taking over the world. The retro platforming of A Hat in Time is here, alongside the compelling mysteries of Return of the Obra Dinn. Supergiant is represented with Pyre, their predecessor to Hades, and so is the brooding world of Hollow Knight.
They’ve even made time for their own music this time, with Robby’s score for Super Crush KO in the mix, and John Robert reprising his role as the Bard from Wandersong.
The members of The Game Brass are passionate about indie gaming. Many of them work every day in indie game audio. Robby’s Level Curve studio does soundtracks and audio implementation for everything from Playdate to VR. John Robert’s scores include indie smashes like For the King and Tchia. JohnStacy has recorded for the Tangledeep series and for Wayforward, while you can hear Alex in Tchia and Tooth & Tail. Danny is in Later Daters and The Big Con, while producer Thomas has worked on Tree Tap Adventure and Broken Spectre.
