A Case for Books | The Bookwanderers Club: SF Said @ACaseforBooks | Uploaded May 2020 | Updated October 2024, 5 hours ago.
Episode Sixteen of The Bookwanderers Club, a live book club on every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 2pm while schools are closed due to COVID-19.
SF Said, author of Varjak Paw and Phoenix, joins Anna to talk about why children's books are so important, working for seven years on one book, and why cats make such brilliant characters. There's also a look at the trailer for Phoenix with artwork by Dave McKean.
SF's writing prompt is to forget about writing! Think about reading or movies or TV or comics - whatever you like a story to be. If you could have any story - what would it be? What do you secretly in your heart of hearts most want a story to be about? And then sit down and write it yourself, whether you think anyone else would like or not, just have fun and write!
