New Zealand is proposing an overhaul of its high school English curriculum. As someone who still analyses books like they are studying for an exam and was a high scorer in English, I'm giving my two cents.

Why do we rarely cherish the books given to us in English class? How can we make a curriculum that means students will get good grades? What books will make teens excited to read and study English? Let's compare what I studied to the books I think will answer these questions.
