What happens when we offer offer the bare bones of our music to our very accomplished musical friends? You get a fantastic genetic mash of influences that breathe new life into our work. One part us, one part them...The Mongrel Mixes is a colourful collection of Johnny Hollow songs, re-imagined by a diverse set of composers and djs. This project was produced and managed with band member Vincent Marcone at the helm making sure the vibe of this album fit nicely into Johnny Hollow's World. As a side note, Johnny Hollow's main composer, Janine White, completes the album, rethinking their song "Firefly" by digging deep into her classical roots and re-scoring the piece with orchestral elements.
To emphasize this track, The Mongrel Mixes is released with a stunning stop motion animation short film/ music video based "Firefly". This film was completely funded by our Patrons and Fans!
