A Caribbean woman gets her secret past revealed when her island is invaded by vicious buccaneers.
The studio delivered over 150 VFX shots, with a strong focus on invisible effects that seamlessly blend into the live-action footage rather than standing out.
One of the most important aspects of their work was building the film’s central environment, “the bluff.” Using LiDAR scans, real plate photography, and digital matte painting, the team created a detailed and consistent cliffside setting that appears across multiple scenes and helps establish the film’s world.
Future Associate also worked extensively on the film’s action sequences, combining practical elements with CG to enhance fire, smoke, water, and destruction in a way that feels natural and believable. In more complex or dangerous moments, digital doubles were used to safely execute shots without breaking realism.
In addition, the team handled environment extensions and clean-up work, expanding real locations and refining shots to give the film a larger, more cinematic scale.
