Update:
After I posted the video. I was told that the history book Howard read as a kid might have been The Romance of Early Britain by G.F. Scott.
REH scholars Rusty Burke and Patrice Louinet did a deep investigation into it (as opposed to my very shallow one).
We have to be thankful for all the hard work they've put in to giving us more insight into Howard's life and fiction.

I wrote a script for this episode and couldn't memorize it and couldn't do it justice by going off the cuff, so I just read off my script.

In retrospect, the words terse and verbose in my review of Howard and deCamp toward the end are totally incorrect in context of their writing styles.

Howard's writing is rich and colourful in description. It paints a picture and pulls a reader in. That's part of his appeal as a writer.

DeCamp just sucks the life out of a story. Terse would probably be more appropriate to his style, but not the good kind of terse. He cut the life from Howard's stories. Simple as that.

That's probably how I should have put it in the episode.
