Most Uber and Lyft drivers know they have to pay for gas, but gas is only one part of the real cost of rideshare driving.
Depreciation, maintenance, tires, rideshare insurance, taxes, dead miles, and even opportunity cost can quietly eat away at your earnings. That means a $30 Uber ride isn't necessarily $30 in profit and a $1,500 week doesn't mean you actually made $1,500.
