Our first guest for 2024, is one of our most all rounded and gifted musical collaborators to date.
He met Paddy after witnessing our first legitimate performance at Newtown festival back in 2011 and since then, he has remained a crucial member of the sticky operation.
Before we met the fella, Sticky’s recorded sound felt more like you were listening to a looping fart in a laundromat or a late night table tennis match in Pat Pong.
It was no coincidence that once we brought him in, the opportunities for the band took off. Radio finally played our songs, an international following grew and we cemented our sound with the now 10 year on debut record Caress Your Mole, mixed and produced by the master himself. He then carried on to mix and produce our next five records. (With Taras on lekkerboy too. Don’t forget ole Beansie!!!!)
In the recording sessions, he was right by your side. Pushing you for your best takes, in a manner that would always make you feel calm and comfortable - even if he did have his shirt off, bulging eyes and a dry mouth painted in red wine..
(at least that was how I remember him for land of pleasure.)
He often looked out for us outside of the sessions too. Checking up on us when we weren’t at our mental best, hanging backstage at our live shows and patiently producing the Westway record in Thailand that would have sent most other professionals insane!
Since then the Sober, Vegan Running Health Nut has produced and worked with some of the biggest artists both locally and internationally and we are so lucky to have him consistently part of the ever growing sticky sound.
Crossing live all the way from his home in Wales, on the Boppa tonight we welcome the unstoppable, Mr Dann Hume!
