These are the 3 best XP farms for every stage of the game. I will show you an easy farm that any beginner can make, a more complex one that gives more experience without being overly complicated, and one you can build in the endgame after defeating the Dragon, complete with an enchanting table, anvil, and other useful tools you might need.
First up, the earliest stage of the game.
Its main advantage is that you can build it right from the start.
You'll just need a large amount of wood and building blocks, as well as a minimum of 3 iron ingots to bring water.
Once you've gathered your resources, find the highest point near you and start building up from there.
Just make sure not to build near mountains or in a river biome.
Build up into the air.
To do this, place two stacks of temporary blocks going straight up.
After that, construct a 7 by 4 platform.
Place 6 blocks like this.
Place chests here.
And connect hoppers to them.
Now, raise this structure up by another 21 blocks.
Be sure to remove these blocks right above the chests.
Next, extend outward by 7 blocks on each side from right here.
Then add walls all around like this.
Now, fill in this space on all sides to create a platform like this.
After that, pour water right here, doing so on every side, naturally.
Also, place trapdoors to cover the areas where the water flows.
Make sure to open them after placing.
This way, the mobs will walk onto them and fall into the water.
Next, place carpets in this specific pattern; you can also use trapdoors or slabs instead, but it’s not recommended cuz mobs may stuck.
The first level is complete.
All that's left is to build a roof for this structure.
If you want more levels, simply break a bit of the roof right here, place trapdoors and carpets, build up the walls, and reconstruct the roof.
All that remains is to place torches on top of the roof so nothing spawns up there.
Do the same on our lower platform.
Now just wait a moment, and here are our mobs.
One floor of this farm yields 16 levels per minute.
Second stage of the game: when you are relatively advanced, can brew potions, and have the ability to explore the world more freely.
The advantage of this farm is its compactness and the amount of XP it provides.
It gives significantly more experience than the previous one.
Clear out a small area.
Place a campfire in the center.
And pour water right here.
After that, enclose it with building blocks.
In the corner here, dig a small hole like this and place an armor stand inside.
Now, dig a small trench on the other side of the farm.
Lure a zombie into it.
Give it a name tag.
And shield it from the sun.
Next, you need to find Armadillos in these biomes, bring them to the farm, and breed them—since bred ones won't despawn unlike stray ones—and place them right in here.
The more Armadillos you have, the more experience you will get.
Next, splash them with a Splash Potion of Infestation.
And as we can see, silverfish have started spawning.
After that, stand near the armor stand right here and strike into this spot.
You'll gain a pretty impressive amount of experience in a very short time.
The final farm is one we will build in the End.
Beside it, we will set up an area for enchanting and disenchanting books and items.
This farm will give you the highest amount of experience.
For this one, you will need a massive amount of building blocks, plenty of leaves, and carpets and of course you must kill ender dragon before building this xp farm.
To begin, head to the edge of the main island in the End.
Pour lava down the edge.
Once it reaches the bottom, pour water alongside it.
Descend all the way to the bottom.
And place leaves down—specifically, 2 stacks of leaves.
Now build a platform here with an opening in the center.
Place chests here and connect hoppers to them.
Make sure to cover the hoppers with carpets.
Then, two blocks higher, build another 9 by 9 platform.
Along the edges of this platform, place carpets two layers high in two rows.
