I discuss the simple tips of writing, editing and reading as the best method for improving your own craft. Writing can help you get creative, write in genres you've never considered, and allows you to get comfortable with the words you write. The more you practise, the more you improve. And the same goes for reading. Reading helps writing, regardless of however good the actual book is. If it's the best book ever, or the worst on the scene, both will help you learn and push your writing into the next level.
