4LayerTech has finally released their direct drive LCD driver board, the RVL-DD. This is a BIG advancement for the Ashida as it means an increase in video quality (achieved by bypassing the Wii video encoder) and a massively improved modding experience,

The RVL-DD can be purchased with an Ashida flex cable that makes installation of the LCD screen MUCH easier and cleaner. The flex cable provides a more stable connection to the trimmed Wii (less tiny wires to install and manage). And there are actually less wires to install, since the RVL-DD doesn't need the VGA lines required by the stock LCD driver board.

Let's see what's involved with installing the RVL-DD into my Ashida!
