What is the best note taking software on Linux?
In this video I will share with you my note taking experience on Linux.
In my view, the best note taking software on Linux is cherrytree. Cherrytree is the comprehensive note taking program available on Linux. It is especially good if you use programming code in your notes.
The best note taking software for simple notes is zim. It is the most popular note-taking software among Linux users.
Simplenote is also very good note taking program that also works on Linux. It is very similar to Zim in functionality and probably little more modern looking.
Other options:
NixNote is an unofficial client of Evernote for Linux. But you can also use it independently of Evernote. It is a very promising note-taking program.
DropBox Paper is the best option for note-taking if you do not mind that it is available online only.
Evernote is the most popular note taking program among Windows users. Unfortunately, there is no native client for Linux. There are some third-party Evernote clients developed for Linux (e.g. everpad, nixnote). However, Evernote has a decent web client that Linux users can use with no problem. Evernote is an excellent program for general-purpose note taking.
