NVIDIA's GTC 2026 kicked off with the announcement of Vera Rubin, and the show floor was packed with vendors showing off both their latest hardware, as well as software packages to take advantage of the AI craze.

You're right in assuming that *most* of the software booths were filled by LLMs, chatbots, and other types of generative slop factories. But are there any companies actually using all of this processing power to solve real problems that exist today?

Camb.ai is a live translation service, specializing in media localization for things like TV, News, Sports and Movies. I was particularly interested in their sports translation, as it solves a number of edge-cases not typically handled well by translation services. (https://camb.ai)

SkillReal was demoing their In-Line manufacturing quality control software, which uses cameras placed on a manufacturing line to monitor and track features during manufacturing. Rather than rely on previous photos of parts, it automatically overlays the original CAD model over captured images, and tracks individual features for placement and accuracy.
