Will Ferrell playsLars Erickssong and Rachel McAdams isSigrit Ericksdottir, two Icelandic musicians who perform under the name Fire Saga. Their shared dream is to win the Eurovision Song Contest, an annual competition that has helped launch several global superstars, including ABBA and Celine Dion. No one thinks they're good enough to make it -- especially Lars' stern father Erick (Pierce Brosnan) -- but through a twist of fate, they make it to the semi-finals. From there, tensions develop between Lars and Sigrit, who have long refused to act upon their love for one another. This tension threatens to put their desired victory in jeopardy.
Eurovision Song Contest was written by Ferrell and Andrew Steele. It was directed by David Dobkin, whose previous films include Wedding Crashers and Fred Claus. The supporting cast features Dan Stevens as Russian contestant Alexander Lemtov, and Demi Lovato as Icelandic singing sensation Katiana.
